WATERCOLOR WITH MARIE SIEGRIST

WATERCOLOR WITH MARIE SIEGRIST

ONE DAY WATERCOLOR & WATERCOLOR PENCIL*WORKSHOP TO COINCIDE WITH

MARIE’S SOLO EXHIBIT AT DONA ANA ARTS COUNCIL GALLERY

Tuesday, September 17th, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

at the Dona Anna Arts Council Gallery,

1740 Calle De Mercado, Messilla, NM

Phone: 575-523-6403

Workshop Fee: $65.00

This Workshop is about using traditional watercolor techniques in combination with the use of watercolor pencils*. Watercolor pencils are water soluble, blendable, and can be used successfully as a drawing tool, an adjunct to a watercolor painting, and for making a finished painting. They are also easy to carry, with a brush or two, for painting while traveling. All in all they are a fun tool to have in the watermedia kit.

During this workshop I will be demonstrating a painting of a pretty pink water lily floating on a pond. In the demonstration painting I have used a variegated watercolor wash for the water and the lily pads. Watercolor pencils were used to paint the lily and the dark red edge of the pads. There is also a little surprise bling on the finished painting. I will have waterlily references for your use or you may have photos and sketches of your own that you might prefer to use.

*NOTE: If you have watercolor pencils bring them to the workshop, if you don’t have them the painting can be completed entirely with watercolor.

We are sending a big thanks to the Las Cruces community for the overwhelming support during our annual spring event. Each garden recieved between 350 and 400 visitors who had the opportunity to see fantastic gardens and architecture, and exceptional artwork from members of our group. We are looking forward to planning our fall event, Holly Day House and raise money for charity. We will publish the information about that event on our main page.

We just launched our new web site and hope you look around and discover the artists in our group. Everyone has a sample of their work and contact information. We will be blogging from time to time about our members and other art topics. Please come back again.
